Fall 2025 Updates to the Alabama Generator Interconnection Queue

Alabama’s interconnection queue is shaped almost entirely by Southern Company’s vertically integrated planning, with a small contribution from TVA. Unlike MISO states where independent developers drive renewable queue activity, nearly all of Alabama’s projects are utility-led. While the state’s queue includes nearly 10 GW of renewables, gas remains a central component of future capacity planning, as seen in recent CPCN filings before the Alabama Public Service Commission.

Notably, no wind projects are found in Alabama's queue.
